Mosaic art can be traced back to the days of antiquity. From Macedonia and
ancient Rome, Egypt to New York mosaics are highly recognizable pieces that
inspire excitement and wonder into all who encounter them. With an eye for
detail and the avant-garde, I have managed to create a completely unique style
that marries the tradition of mosaic art and the beauty of sculpted stone.
Sculpted Mosaics are works of art created from ceramic, natural stones,
glass, brick, sea shells and various other materials cut and sculpted to
perfection on a wet saw, hand rubbed to remove all sharp edges, then
expertly assembled for installation. I do not employ the use of any computer
programs to help in the designing process. Rather than produce a "standard"
mosaic from a carbon-copied program, I create each mosaic organically;
starting with the original concept and working through the details of material,
environment and client desires until the final product is finished and sealed.
All mosaic art pieces are made from sculpted tile. Some custom mosaics
featured in this gallery incorporated personal touches for individual clients:
local sea shells, prize winning lures and fossilized creatures to name a few.
By using only the highest quality materials, I ensure the longest possible life
for the mosaic creations. All mosaics are attached to a mesh backing for easy
shipment and installation. The mosaic art pieces can be assembled in the
studio and shipped accordingly; in the studio and personally installed to
ensure long lasting beauty; on-site custom creations are also available.
